AirForceMarathon3I took up running about many years ago and really got serious about it in 1997.  In the fall of 1997 I ran three marathons; the Air Force Marathon in Dayton Ohio, the Toe to Tow Marathon in Akron Ohio, and the Columbus Marathon (see finish photo below) in Columbus, Ohio. In each event I finished within one minute of four hours.

In 1998, I ran the Air Force Marathon (see start and finish photo below), which I plan to run until I am taking my dirt nap and the Toe to Tow Marathon. Personal issues kept me from the necessary training to improve my time from last year.

1999 proved to be very challenging from a running standpoint.  I had many personal issues come up, including adopting a new child, starting a new job, coaching and much more.  My running time was cut to almost nothing. I only ran the Air Force Marathon and my goal was to finish, which I did in 4:30 minutes approximately (see photo below).   Since then it has one major chalenge after another and running has taken a back seat to everything else.  Now I’m heavy and out of shape, put have vowed in the summer of 2016 to work on turning that around in the next 12 months.  I will try to keep you posted on my progress.

I plan on running more and getting back into the condition I was in in 1997, which was the best I ever felt in my life….to be continued
